Let me take a quick moment to reintroduce myself, from this day forward my name will be: Keryn van der Dijken
My first name sounds exactly like it used to I just switched up the spelling and my new last name can be pronounced (van-der-dike-in)
How does this effect you?
It really doesn’t effect much, I promise!
If you are a current Phantom Freelance client that is paying by cheque the only thing that will have to change is the name you make the cheque out to. As my business is registered under my personal name, this has now changed. I will be contacting these clients directly to let them know of the change so we can streamline the process as best we can.
If you are a Codeable client, then nothing changes. Any links you have that open tasks with myself directly will remain the same, and my old developer URL is being forwarded to the new one. Workroom URLs will all remain the same so you can find me the same way you always have.
Why do I still see “Karen Gill” in some places?
You know when’s not a good time to update your name legally with the government? During a world wide pandemic! While I’m doing my absolute best to get everything updated as quickly and efficiently as possible, it has not been without it’s snags and bumps in the road. I am going through items as I notice them popup but if you see something that concerns you or you want to double check if it’s related to me, please don’t hesitate to reach out and ask.
Why did you change your name?
Many people congratulate me on my recent marriage. To be clear, I did not change my name because I was married, I changed it for a number of personal reasons I won’t get into, but the final straw was not being able to get my boarding pass coming back from Florida last year because my name apparently matched that of someone on the terrorist watch list. I kid you not! So when COVID shut the world down and I wasn’t going to be travelling anywhere, I jumped on the chance to get it changed. My new last name is something I had come up with in high school that I still like to this day. It’s very Dutch and very ME and I’m extremely happy with it.
Regardless of what my name is now, I still offer the same customer and quality service I always have.
Thanks for listening!
